Foreign candy!

So the son-in-law of one of our suppliers works for British Airways. He gave us a box of Twix from the UAE. It's pretty cool as the label is multi-lingual. Has a slightly different chocolate formulation too.

Stupid colds!

It's crazy how colds are quite specific. So a few weeks ago, I got this head cold that had been going around. The symptom was that whenever I bent over, it felt like my head was going to explode. I had mentioned this to one of the lab guys and he said he had the exact same thing. I'd never felt like this before so it was new to me.

I have a new sickness now that I had also never had before; it feels like my ear is clogged with water (in addition to the stuffy nose, etc). I told my roommate about it and he told me he had the exact same thing a couple days earlier! Argh...

Making snow

So when I went snowboarding, they had the snow making machines on. Apparently, they use compressed air and water from the nearby lake to make the snow. So there you have it.

drinking at water fountains

People can be a bit weird about drinking at water fountains. Generally at gyms, and most places, there are two water fountains placed together; one high and one low. Some people will not drink from the low one. If there is someone drinking from the high one, the other person would rather wait than drink at the low one.

Granted, there are some times when a person drinking at the high one is standing in such a manner as to be half blocking the low one, but often times that is not the case. I don't get it... If I'm thirsty I'm drinking at whatever fountain is open. Heck, I usually drink from the low one because the water is usually colder because less people drink from it.
